To the Congress of the United States of America:

Please consider carefully what you are doing if you vote in favor of this “bailout.”

President G. W. Bush has bribed the American public twice with “handouts,” and he now sees fit to provide handouts for rich corporations who have mismanaged their (and other peoples’ money).

I do not want my taxpayer dollars shoring up executives with luxuries and companies that have huge assets “off shore.” I don’t want to support wealthy people who overextended themselves with mortgages they could not afford.

I would like to help the hardworking people who have been mistreated by greedy lenders and soaring costs of living and exorbitant health care costs. These are the people you should be bailing out, not the fat cats with three houses and fancy cars.

Some stringent rules and guidelines must be put in place before members of the American public willingly support such a bailout. Think about the message to the youth of America: Just mismanage your finances, spend as you wish; lie, cheat, and steal; and guess what? The government will give you a loan at taxpayer expense!

Let’s make finances and insurance straightforward and ethical and take the sleight-of-hand and irresponsibly high profit motives out of the equation.
